**Description**:
We are currently seeking an experienced People & Capability Advisor to join our team at our newly refurbished Support Office in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. This role will support the Defence Bank purpose through the delivery of best practice people services while meeting regulatory and operational requirements. As a trusted advisor to leaders and their teams, you will play a key role in supporting the employee life cycle. You will also support people projects and key cyclical people activities, as well as supporting our continuous improvement initiatives.

**This position is accountable for**:

- Delivering the following people services end to end in line with Defence Bank's policy, legal and regulatory requirements:

- Supporting leaders with recruitment and onboarding of new employees
- Health, safety, and wellbeing including workers' compensation.
- Supporting leaders with the performance cycle (performance framework) and people related issues (ie. Performance management through to resolution where needed.
- Employee relations
- Remuneration & benefits, including support with remuneration surveys and role & salary benchmarking
- Supporting the People & Capability team to deliver people projects and initiatives as defined by the Bank's strategic plan.
- Building trusted relationships and supporting/coaching leaders regarding the employee life cycle & people issues
- Provide people administration support for the end-to-end employee lifecycle as required.

**Skills and Experiences**:
You're passionate about all things people, and you're comfortable working across all aspects of the employee lifecycle and enjoy alternating between managing and doing. Coaching and guiding leaders is a strength and you're comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get the job done. You're a team player who works collaboratively with others and can step into all facets of HR as needed with the relevant support.

**You have**:

- At least 3-5 years' experience in human resources.
- Tertiary Qualifications in human resources (desired but not mandatory).
- Ideally previous exposure in Health, Safety & Wellbeing and Employee Relations (desired but not mandatory).

**Demonstrated experience or skills in**:

- Aspects of the employee lifecycle.
- Problem solving, and trouble shooting.
- Case management.
- Coaching.
- Challenging the status quo.
- Communication (both written and verbal).
- Picking up new concepts/systems quickly.
- Planning, organising, and project delivery.
- Building effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Reviewing and improving processes.
