About the team
The Performance Analytics Unit is part of the QCAA's Analysis and Reporting Branch, within the Assessment, Reporting and ICT Systems Division. The Performance Analytics Unit is responsible for collecting, analysing and disseminating data to a range of organisations and the public.
Your key responsibilities
- Use Structured Query Language (SQL) and a range of appropriate methodologies to implement analyses, compile and distribute reports, findings and recommendations. Knowledge or experience with any of the following would be highly regarded: R, R Markdown, Microsoft Power BI, Java, Ruby on Rails, LaTeX.
- Research and conduct analyses to provide information and data to inform sound and strategic policy advice as well as legislation, regulations, instructions and guidelines.
- Produce and perform quality control over the large-scale datasets required for NAPLAN, QCAA senior assessment and reporting, and production of Senior Education Profiles.
- Extract relevant information from complex databases and provide advice and recommendations regarding the significance of the data in the context of the Queensland education and tertiary entrance system.
- Lead formulation of advice and negotiate and communicate effective recommendations for the QCAA board and external stakeholders regarding analysis and reporting projects and issues.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to review and evaluate processes and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and responsiveness to internal and external changes in requirements for data collection, analysis, management and reporting including maintenance and management of QCAA databases.
