Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Finance Modeller on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.

**About the Role**

The APS6 Finance Officer (Modeller) is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.

The position is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.

The APS6 Finance Officer (Modeller) is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

- Analysing and interpreting statistical reports to assist with the development of work plans and strategic planning.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects.
- Coordinating and providing cost estimates for all internal and external requests for changes to systems.
- Developing correspondence for stakeholders, such as financial reports, corporate documentation and responses to ministerial submissions.
- Exercising appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines.
- Managing quality assurance activities and outcomes including the use of integrity and error reporting and the coordination of quality audits.
- Preparing a range of written material including business cases, reports and corporate documentation.
- Undertaking quality assurance of feasibility and cost estimates, assumptions and justifications.
- Undertaking detailed financial analysis of branch/division's variance to budget and forecast.
- Undertaking financial administration and across the division's cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals.

**Mandatory requirements**
- Relevant academic qualifications with membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) or other equivalent professional finance bodies (or holding equivalent finance related post graduate qualifications);
- Extensive direct finance experience performing and delivering complex financial and governance outcomes.
