The purpose of the Analytics Lead is to lead a small team to drive the quality of internal data informed decision making through high quality analytics. The role is responsible for the areas of data warehousing, analytics engineering, and data analysis. The role heavily focuses on product analytics but is expected to assess and drive opportunities in sales, support, content, finance and so on.

THE MAIN GAME
- Ensure the organisation utilises data well in service of successful decisions
- Drive the discovery of user and product insights through user behavioural analytics
- Lead the development of key customer and business metrics such as the North Star
- Develop analytical tooling that enables self service of data and insights
- Design and build accurate, performant and reliable data models and data pipelines
- Educate users on using our analytical assets and tooling, and how to data sensemake, empowering them to answer their questions and find value in our data
- Support stakeholders by fulfilling ad-hoc requests
- Develop a healthy experimentation culture across product
- Collaborate with other senior leaders to develop data-informed strategy
- Raising the level of maturity of data fluency across the organisation through education and evangelism
- Grow the technical capabilities, autonomy, leadership and impact of reports
- Ensure reports are well supported, able to grow, and maintaining a healthy and safe work life balance
- Develop a positive team culture that fosters healthy debate, collaboration, knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and focuses on high quality outcomes

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TEAM
- Strong SQL and data warehousing fundamentals incl. Kimball
- Familiarity with analytic technology stack covering BI, ELT, DB, user behaviour analytics, experimentation
- Able to simplify and communicate complexity in an accessible way
- Able to use data analysis and sense making to discover valuable insights
- High competence with SQL, data visualisation and statistics
- Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritise work to meet business and function requirements
- Passionate about data and its value in business success - and the ability to project that passion and educate others.
- Empathetic - you're able to create a feeling of safety where stakeholders can be open with data, feelings, feedback, and expectations.
