Overview
DevOps Leadrole atSuncorp Group.
This role focuses on the evolution, enhancement, and adoption of DevOps capabilities across Suncorp's platforms, driving agility, operational excellence, and platform efficiency.
You'll lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and scalable, secure infrastructure.
Working with Agile teams, you'll embed best practices into the development lifecycle, optimise workflows through automation, and ensure solutions meet high-quality, compliance, and operational standards while aligning with business goals.
Location: Brisbane / Sydney / Melbourne.
Hybrid working environment + Bonus + Flexi Days (up to 5 days extra leave).
Responsibilities
Lead delivery of a strategic DevOps roadmap, ensuring prioritisation, resource alignment, and business value
Champion Agile and DevOps practices, driving a culture of automation, accountability, and continuous improvement
Oversee CI/CD pipeline maintenance and optimisation, resolving deployment challenges and enhancing delivery speed
Drive automation and self-service strategies to boost productivity and reduce operational bottlenecks
Guide improvements in platform monitoring for proactive issue detection and resolution
Lead, mentor, and upskill the team, fostering innovation, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence
What You\'ll Bring
5+ years scripting and automation with Python, Shell, JavaScript, Terraform, Ansible, and REST API integrations
Strong AWS skills: EC2, S3, networking, Kubernetes (EKS), OpenShift (ROSA), and cloud automation
Experience in designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Bamboo with Git version control
Skilled in integrating security, monitoring, and observability tools like Snyk, Fortify, Dynatrace, Splunk, and ServiceNow
Familiar with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and automated testing tools to improve delivery pipelines
