Your Key Accountabilities

**The core capability requirements for this role are**:

- Manage and mentor a team of Case Managers to ensure a high standard, and a level of consistency in information release under the legislation, and that a high standard of customer service is delivered by the Right to Information and Privacy Unit
- Fulfil the Commissioner's obligations with respect to compliance with subpoenas and other legal processes, requiring document production in Queensland and interstate.
- Assist the Manager RTI including providing support and backfilling as required.
- Provide guidance and assistance to team members to ensure compliance with legislation with respect to subpoenas and other legal processes including quality assurance checks
- Process complex subpoenas and other legal processes served upon the Commissioner, including checking for privileged material in compliance with court ordered and legislative timeframes.
- Liaise, consult and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, including courts, legal practitioners and Crown Law officers on matters relating to the production of documents in response to summonses, subpoenas and other legal processes on behalf of the Commissioner.
- Identify, develop and implement appropriate release of information procedures and practice standards to ensure the on-going efficient and effective release of information under subpoenas and other legal processes, including providing expert advice and assistance to the Director and Manager, Right to Information and Privacy Unit.
- Provide complex briefings to Legal Officers in relation to specific subpoenas and other legal processes where objections are raised on behalf of the Commissioner, to ensure that the Service is represented in any subsequent legal proceedings.
