**Job Description**:
Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

- Undertake routine preparation of soil and building materials in preparation for Asbestos analysis.
- Perform Asbestos fibre counting and Asbestos identification on a range of matrices including building materials, soil, water and dust samples.
- Become an approved Fibre counter and Asbestos identifier.
- Participate in external and internal proficiency testing as required by the business.
- Understand and uphold general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements and ensure the quality of data produced fulfils the requirements of SGS's quality policy, NATA certification and stated data quality objectives.
- Perform other duties as directed by the section Team Leader to ensure the smooth running of the section.

**Qualifications**:

- Appropriate tertiary qualification desirable, TAFE certificates minimum.
- Experience in Asbestos analysis using PLM/Dispersion staining technique and PCM is desirable.
- Flexibility with working hours and tasks, as some weekend work and overtime will be required from time to time.
- Previous NATA signatory status in asbestos identification is desirable.
