About the Role
The Quality Engineering Manager will lead a team of quality engineers focused on ensuring the functionality, usability, and overall quality of Nuix's software products are of the highest standard. This role involves developing and implementing testing strategies, managing quality assurance processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
**Team Leadership**: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of quality engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
**Testing Strategy Development**: Develop and implement a comprehensive testing strategy that meets the needs of individual scrum teams delivering on product objectives and business goals, whilst aligning with broader quality engineering practices
**Test Planning and Execution**: Oversee the creation, execution, and maintenance of test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional testing.
**Defect Management**: Implement effective defect tracking and management processes, ensuring timely resolution and communication of issues to stakeholders.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Work closely with product management, development, and operations teams to integrate quality assurance practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
**Test Automation**: Lead the development of automated testing, covering integration and e2e testing scenarios leveraging test automation tools and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
**Continuous Delivery**: Work with engineering teams to ensure CI/CD pipelines are robust and efficient whilst incorporating comprehensive automated test coverage
**Quality Metrics and Reporting**: Establish quality metrics and KPIs to evaluate testing effectiveness, providing regular reports and insights to management.
**Continuous Improvement**: Facilitate retrospectives and quality reviews to identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices in quality engineering.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
**Must-Have Qualifications**:
**Educational Background**: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
**Experience**: 8+ years of experience in quality engineering or software testing, covering both on-premise and SaaS products.
**Leadership Skills**: Proven experience in managing and developing high-performing teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working with off-shore teams (based in India) is a must.
**Technical Proficiency**: Strong knowledge of functional testing methodologies and tools, test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) and Cloud technologies (preferably AWS).
**Agile Methodologies**: Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with Agile testing practices.
**Analytical Skills**: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented approach and a commitment to delivering quality software.
**Desirable Qualifications**:
**Certifications**: Relevant certifications such as ITSQB are advantageous.
**CI/CD Experience**: Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools.
**Industry Knowledge**: Experience in data management, cybersecurity, or related fields is a plus.
