Quality Engineer - Stabling and Maintenance Facility (Orchard Hills) - SSTOM Project
About Us
The Parklife Metro consortium, in partnership with the NSW Government, is delivering one of Western Sydney's most transformative infrastructure projects as part of the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport line.

Our consortium—featuring Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens, and Webuild—is delivering this once-in-a-generation project under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), combining world-class expertise and innovation to build a future-ready rail system that will support the region's growth for decades to come.

About The Role
Employed by Webuild, we are seeking a skilled and driven
Quality Engineer
to join our team at the Stabling and Maintenance Facility (SMF) in Orchard Hills.

This is a key opportunity to contribute to the technical and operational success of one of Western Sydney's most complex infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will provide engineering support to ensure that quality requirements are embedded in design and construction, lead quality assurance activities, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to achieve project compliance and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of project quality management systems in accordance with ISO 9001 and project-specific requirements.
  • Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and other contractor quality documentation.
  • Monitor construction works to verify compliance with specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and surveillance activities, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are identified and implemented.
  • Lead or assist in the investigation of non-conformances, defects, and quality-related issues, ensuring root causes are addressed.
  • Provide engineering input to drive quality improvements and ensure constructability and compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain quality records, reports, and data analysis to track performance and trends.
  • Work closely with design, construction, and subcontractor teams to ensure quality standards are met at all stages of delivery.
  • Engage with client representatives, consultants, and internal stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and alignment on quality matters.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
  • 3-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within construction, infrastructure, or rail projects.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance systems, standards, and construction processes.
  • Experience in reviewing technical documentation such as ITPs, specifications, and drawings.
  • Ability to identify and resolve quality issues with a practical and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale or complex infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • A proactive attitude with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and engineering excellence.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of the SSTOM Project - a defining rail infrastructure initiative for Western Sydney.
  • Join a high-performing project team where your engineering expertise will directly contribute to successful delivery.
  • Work on a major project with opportunities for career development and advancement within Webuild and the wider consortium.
  • Contribute to a legacy project that will transform Western Sydney's transport future.
