This role provides a professional service in the execution of technical repair and maintenance of all assigned facility wet and dry suppression equipment.
This includes elements of planning, organization, coordination, scheduling and resource management associated with the day-to-day maintenance of the facility's wet and dry suppression systems.The Fire Sprinkler Technician is primarily responsible for the efficient and timely completion of fire system maintenance tasks, identification of deficiencies and repairs as required.Operating within a small team of technicians, you will be expected to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the implementation of initiatives and technical advancement.
The Fire Sprinkler Technician role will suit individuals that are able to think on their feet, respond to changes in assignments based on site needs and complete assigned tasks to a high standard.This position works closely with the Facilities Operations Team, other Facilities Maintainers and OASIS departments to enable reliable, consistent and effective maintenance and operation of facility systems.Applicants must be an USA citizen who have a TS/SCI or higher Security clearanceEssential ResponsibilitiesInspection, testing and maintenance of fire sprinklers and associated infrastructure in accordance with applicable standardsRepairs and installation to associated wet and dry suppression systems and infrastructure.Work with operational and maintenance personnel to coordinate life safety system impairments as required for repairs, maintenance and new installations.Maintain a complete and current working understanding of all relevant facilities infrastructure, equipment and systems.Inspection of fire extinguishersAny other reasonable duties as requested.QualificationsNICET II or III - Inspection and Testing of Water Based SystemsStrong understanding of Work Health Safety (WHS) Act, and EHS policies & proceduresDemonstrated understanding and experience working within Facility Maintenance or similar technical environmentStrong understanding and knowledge of technical terminology relating to Electrical infrastructure and electronic equipmentStrong understanding of facilities equipment and functionalityStrong understanding of facilities O&M requirementsStrong understanding of equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, & corrective)DesirableNICET I or II - Fire Alarm SystemsNICET I or II - Special Hazards SystemsExperience with Notifier systemsTrade qualificationEnterprise Resource Planning experience.
(SAP, Archibus etc.)Microsoft Office Suite experienceExperience2 years experience in a similar roleExperience with a diverse range of fire systems and suppression equipment highly regarded.Physical RequirementsPersonnel are required to be medically fit to work and safely complete all physical tasks associated with the role in which they are employed.
