Job Title: Driver and Yard PersonReports To: Logistics CoordinatorLocation: Barham (some project time may be required)Employment Type: Full-time or CasualPosition OverviewThe Driver and Yard Person is responsible for the safe transport, delivery, and collection of plant, equipment, and tools, as well as maintaining an organised and efficient yard.This dual-role position supports site operations through reliable transport services and effective yard management.Key ResponsibilitiesDriving DutiesOperate company vehicles to deliver or collect materials, tools, and equipment.Ensure all transport activities are completed in a timely and safe manner.Maintain NHVR logbook and compliance.Conduct daily pre-start checks and report any vehicle faults or maintenance issues.Complete delivery and pickup documentation accurately.Comply with all road transport laws and company policies.Yard DutiesMaintain a clean, safe, and well-organised yard.Assist with the loading/unloading and storage of materials and equipment.Conduct regular stocktakes and maintain accurate yard inventory records.Perform basic maintenance and inspections of yard tools and equipment.General mechanical and labouring duties as required.Qualifications & ExperienceValid HC Drivers LicenceForklift licence (desirable)Construction Induction White Card (mandatory)Previous experience in a similar driver or yard hand roleSound knowledge of load restraint and manual handlingBasic mechanical aptitude (desirable)Basic computer skillsSkills & AttributesStrong work ethic and reliabilityAbility to use software or willingness to learnHappy to learn and open to feedbackPhysically fit and capable of manual workStrong attention to detail and time managementAbility to report in an effective and timely mannerAbility to work independently and within a teamSafety-focused mindset and understanding of WHS proceduresPerformance IndicatorsOn-time delivery and collection rateYard cleanliness and organisationAdherence to safety proceduresVehicle and equipment maintenance logs and pre-starts
