PEDESTRIAN.TV is looking for the next person ready to make their mark in the media industry.

We are looking for a social / video producer, which means you'll be creating content for PEDESTRIAN.TV's social channels (Instagram, TikTok, Threads, etc). This will be a mix of video, image and text content, finding new ways to tell stories for a youth audience.

Reporting to the Head of Editorial, this role is suited for a young, emerging journalist or producer. We're looking for someone who is terminally online, who spots TikTok trends before they blow up, and who is passionate about telling stories in new ways. You should be across both the news cycle and the group chat, with a keen eye for spotting emerging trends and conversations that deserve a national platform.

We're not interested in what's been covered before. We want to know what's next.

Part of this role will involve appearing in vertical videos (TikTok and Instagram Reels). This is not a role for someone who is camera shy.

Digital media is an ever-evolving beast, and each platform has its own unique tricks for success. It is up to you to learn what works for TikTok vs Instagram vs the next big social platform.

You will need to work to a deadline. You will need to be willing to give any challenge a crack.

Above all, we're looking for someone to push PEDESTRIAN.TV's social channels forward. What that looks like can be up to you. What is required, above all else, is passion, drive, humour, and a deep understanding of the world around you. We can help you learn the rest as you go.

The Social / Video producer will be required to:

- Create daily social-first static content (eg Instagram carousels) that connect with and grow PEDESTRIAN.TV's audience
- Ideate, pitch and create vertical videos for PEDESTRIAN.TV's TikTok and Instagram Reels, that align with the larger video strategy
- Assist in producing / editing video interviews from the editorial team as required
- Publish content direct to PEDESTRIAN.TV's social media channels, brainstorming new ways to tell stories through these platforms
- Demonstrate a journalistic mindsight and excellent writing and fact-checking skills
- Champion and chase Australian stories that sit within PEDESTRIAN.TV's brand

**Qualifications**
The position calls for someone with:

- A unique tone or point of view
- Ambition, and examples of it.
- An outgoing personality, and not afraid to let it shine on camera and in your content
- A finger on the pulse of social media trends and how people are engaging with each platform
- Experience creating vertical videos (you do not need to already be using professional software)
- Bonus, but not required: Experience building a social following, either for yourself or for a brand
- Bonus, but not required: Experience producing content for, and posting to, Facebook and Instagram via business profiles

This role is a full-time position, and will be based out of Pedestrian Group's offices in either Surry Hills, Sydney, or Cremourne, Melbourne.
