The role
Support adult swimmers from nervous beginners to developing athletes.
You'll deliver boutique, tailored sessions under a clear coaching framework, shadow senior coaches where useful, and help create a positive, safe, high-care environment that drives measurable improvement.
What you'll do
Coach adults in small groups and privates with tailored, goal-aligned sessions
UseMomenceon your own smartphone to check in swimmers, record notes and manage rosters
Provide clear technical cues, set simple practice goals and track progress
Enforce water safety and apply basic injury-prevention and management practices
Assist with lane placement, session setup/pack-down and simple benchmarks
Contribute to our social presence by capturing consented photos/videos and short updates within brand guidelines
Participate in mentoring and PD with senior coaches; adopt our curriculum and session standards
Qualifications (one or more of the following)
AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety
AUSTSWIM Teacher of Adults
AUSTSWIM Towards Competitive StrokesorAUSTSWIM Teacher of Competitive Strokes (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
ASCTA Coaching Accreditation(Development or higher) or Swim Australia equivalent (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
Must haves
Current First Aid (HLTAID011 or equivalent)
Current CPR (HLTAID009 or equivalent)
Full Australian working rights (citizen, permanent resident or current valid work visa)
Confident user ofMomence(or similar CRM) for check-ins and progress notes
Working With Children Check (company policy)
National Police Check (company policy)
Current Australian driver's licence or other national ID
Nice to have
Experience supporting culturally diverse and/or anxious adult learners
Second language
Basic social-media or phone-photography skills for quick session updates
Preferred
2+ yearsrelevant coaching or teaching experience
Sydney-based for early starts and flexible shifts
Own car preferred
Availability
Early mornings (approx. 5:30–9:30 am)
Afternoons/evenings (approx. 4:00–8:00 pm)
Weekends as rostered
Pay and roster
Paid under the Fitness Industry Award (MA000094), with casual rates commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Typical shifts include evenings and weekends at Prince Alfred Park Pool (Surry Hills) and Victoria Park Pool (Camperdown).
Rosters are managed in Momence.
