This role is based in Ulverstone in the NW of the state. The team is a multidisciplinary team consisting of Medical Officers, Nurses, Social Workers and consultation processes with Lived experience advocates. We work closely with the states Alcohol and/or Other Drugs (AOD) offices in Launceston and Hobart, delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
We provide advice and support to other agencies, consumers, families and friends. We are a voluntary organisation that bases care on harm minimisation principles.
The Role
The position requires a qualified senior social worker with significant case management experience and a knowledge of Alcohol and Drug principles is an advantage but not essential. As part of the multidisciplinary team the position will provide high quality alcohol and drug services as per the agencies policies and procedures, legal requirements and professional competencies. There is an expectation of travel to provide outreach services, consultation and for education with support from the MDT. A willingness to learn and be part of a dynamic team is essential and pivotal to this role.

You will need
Deliver high quality alcohol and other drug treatment in accordance with relevant Government Legislation and Regulations, Primary Health Care Principles, Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS) policies, procedures and protocols and relevant professional competencies.
Provide a specialist assessment and treatment service for people with multiple and complex needs, including comorbid alcohol and other drug and mental health issues, and their families in accordance with discipline specific skills and abilities.
Act as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of clients with alcohol and other drug needs and promotes community awareness in relation to alcohol and other drugs.

Details of appointment
Casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately a 12-month period.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary:
$110,425 to $121,907 per annum pro rata. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Plus 25% Casual Loading - Equivalent of $69.58 to $76.82 per hour
Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Board of Australia and Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or
Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia and Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia; or
Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and is a full member of AASW or is eligible for membership with the AASW
