About the role We are looking for a Head Barista to lead the day-to-day coffee operations in our Melbourne café.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you'll set and maintain the highest standards of coffee quality, while fostering a positive team culture that reflects the Allpress brand.As the Head Barista, you'll act as the coffee lead within the venue; driving quality and consistency across every shift, supporting barista development, and playing a key leadership role on the floor.
You'll also step into a supervisory capacity when the Venue Manager is not present.
About you We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced service environment and has a genuine passion for coffee and people.
You'll be an experienced barista who leads by example and enjoys mentoring others, with a strong eye for detail and consistency.
Qualifications Proven experience as a senior or lead barista in a busy café environmentConfidence in leading a team on shift and setting the pace of serviceStrong understanding of calibration, recipe consistency, and workflow managementExcellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with FOH and kitchen teamsA calm, supportive leadership style and ability to mentor junior team membersA passion for hospitality and creating exceptional customer experiences Working at Allpress In addition to great company culture, we offer some nice staff perks including as much free coffee as you like while at work, 250g of beans to take home weekly, a free and confidential Employee Assistance Program, and a Wellbeing allowance.
