**Mental Health Support Worker**

**Who are we?**

Harmony Social Services is a Service Provider, specialising in providing support to participants with psychosocial disabilities. We are currently seeking an experienced Support Worker to join our team, based in Nerang. Min. starting salary: $53,900 per year plus superannuation

**Support worker requirements**
- Have a strong knowledge of NDIS guidelines, Community Services and Health Sectors.
- Have an understanding of the issues faced by people experiencing Alcohol and drug related issues, mental health illnesses and other psychosocial disabilities.
- Possess a strong understanding of supporting clients with high Mental Health Behaviour within Residential environments and out in the Community
- Be experienced in managing clients with challenging behaviors
- Have skills/experience in working with diversity and an excellent working knowledge in Mental Health services.
- Have the ability to support others with personal care and domestic duties in a respectful way (and be happy for this to be part of your job).
- Have the capacity to meet the physical requirements of the job that may include manual handling tasks.
- Enjoy working in a small team environment as well as independently if required.
- Flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotating roster which includes days, evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers and weekend shifts.

And must possess:

- Diploma in Community Services / Mental Health
- Completed certificates in:

- Medication Management
- Infection Control
- A Current Driver's License and willingness to use own vehicle (if required) with comprehensive insurance and roadworthy certificate.
- A Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain prior to commencing.
- A NDIS Support Worker Orientation Module Certificate, or willingness to complete prior to commencing.
- A confirmation record of COVID-19 vaccination (dose 1 & 2) and booster

The ability to be fluent in a second language would be advantageous in supporting specific participants.
