The Service Management Modernisation Program (SMM) is a pivotal transformation to achieve the strategic target state SRE and DevSecOps vision at CBA. Our aim is to modernise our IT operating model, engineering culture and technology landscape through the adoption of modern IT platforms, engineering-led approaches to IT service management and governance. This includes enabling data-driven IT management, shift-left developer-oriented operational tooling, adoption of SRE principles and practices, and optimising and automating our IT controls and governance processes. A central theme is to take a software engineering approach to solving traditional operational problems.
This is an opportunity to be part of this transformation, leading the Service Enablement group at CBA as an Executive Manager, responsible for the management and governance of important IT domains and controls that span CBA technology, including technology resiliency and service management standards, ITSCM (BCP and continuity), vulnerability management, change management, IT asset management, and configuration management (CMBD), and in driving training and practice guidance across the organisation. You will contribute to leading and driving transformation initiatives in this space, working with the core SMM program team, CTO and BU partner teams, and the SRE team to achieve strategic outcomes.

- Engineering leadership background in modern agile development & delivery, and management of engineering teams; the creativity to re-imagine IT management & governance by taking an innovative, engineering-led approach to automation, eliminating manual processes.
- Strong background in IT service lifecycle management, SDLC, project & program management, regulatory compliance, data security and data protection, operational risk management governance and controls.
- Demonstrated ability to work in partnership across a large technology organisation, building relationships, and leading complex technology initiatives.
- Strong communication skills and an ability to craft concise status & progress reports, and present at senior stakeholder meetings and organisational risk committees, regulatory forums and IT management forums.
- A growth-mindset: always seeking to learn, adapt, innovate and continuously improve, and an ability to foster this culture and skillset in your own teams.

**Key Skills**:

- Strong leadership experience running engineering teams of 50-100 people, including governance and engineering teams, a track record in upskilling and creating high performance teams, attracting and retaining engineering talent.
- A background in system design, & agile software development (e.g. Java, C/C++, C#, Golang, Python, JavaScript) and delivery of enterprise IT products & solutions including mobile, web or backend platforms in a Banking environment or a scaled technology organisation.
- Strong understanding of modern technology methodologies: Agile, DevSecOps and SRE methodology, strong skills in agile methodology and streamlined use of tools such as JIRA and Confluence to manage books of work.
- Demonstrated expertise in enterprise IT management & governance processes (change, asset, configuration, vulnerability, incident, problem, capacity & performance, ITSCM, CPS230), frameworks and methodologies, knowledge of industry frameworks such as ITIL/ITSM, standards such as PCI DSS, SOC 2 and GDPR.
- Commercial experience in budget management of significant IT budgets, software licencing, vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Skills and experience managing on-premise infrastructure and cloud computing (Iaas and SaaS) environments.
- Experience as a service owner managing and running a portfolio of IT enterprise platforms end to end including feature delivery, incident & change, security & controls compliance, budgeting and cost management, vendor management and licence negotiations.
- Experience in ServiceNow and similar IT management platforms
- Ideal: knowledge or experience employing modern AI technologies such as GenAI
