About the role

We are recruiting a Switchboard Estimator for their Parramatta based site. As an Estimator, you will work in an established division and play a strong role in preparing tenders and bids for projects of all sizes, switchboard design, customer support and technical projects for both commercial and residential projects. For this role, only candidates with experience as an Estimator/Project Engineer in the power distribution industry in Australia will be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Analysing drawings, plans, and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
  • Designing switchboards based on client specifications, adhering to AS/NZS 61439.2: 2016 for Low-Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear Assemblies.
  • Creating standard switchboard drawings, including general arrangements, single line diagrams, and bills of materials using AutoCAD and other design tools.
  • Compiling and submitting tenders accurately and in alignment with both customer and company requirements.
  • Producing technical documentation such as construction drawings, material take-offs, product data sheets, and other essential documents.
  • Offering exceptional customer support and working closely with the sales team to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Providing guidance and support to the project delivery team, ensuring smooth execution of designs into production.
Education & Qualifications
  • Certifications in Electrical Design are a must.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
About you
  • A genuine team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a knack for thinking on your feet in fast-paced situations.
  • Proven experience designing Main Distribution Systems and Switchboards.
  • Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards and Service & Installation Rules for various states.
  • Proficient in using design tools such as AutoCAD and other related software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills — you'll need to liaise with both internal teams and external clients regularly.
  • A minimum of 3 years\' experience in a similar role, with a strong background in switchboard design and tendering.
  • Full Australian working rights
