**The role**

BVAQ Chemistry Department is seeking to appoint Chemistry Analysts who will be directly responsible for conducting routine sample preparation and food testing to the following positions:

- Permanent (full time), Mon-Fri (Day Shift), AL4

Your day to day may include:

- Diploma or Degree in Science or related discipline
- Maintaining a safe working environment
- Conducting sample preparation and testing
- Data entry into the Laboratory Information Management System
- Ensuring all work practices within the area are performed to the relevant standards and procedures
- Taking an active role in innovation and continuous improvement - looking out for problems and suggesting improvements
- Troubleshooting test and instrument issues
- Authorising the release of test results, evaluating control charts and accepting and rejecting results based on sound scientific judgement
- Monitoring the quality of test results and data
- Contributing to the review and modification of standard operating procedures and methods
- Indicative preparation and testing skills used at this level may include; homogenisation, filtration, digestion, extraction, preparing standard solutions, automated and semi-automated instruments etc.
- Plus any other duties as required, as matched to your level of experience and skill.
- Understanding of laboratory quality systems

Ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing will be a requirement of working on site.
