As the Regulatory & Compliance Manager within the Retail Transformation team, you will be responsible for leading the development of our Regulatory and Compliance function within the transformation program, partnering with the business to support AGL to manage regulatory risks and requirements proactively and strategically within the Retail Transformation work. You will drive a simplification agenda in everything AGL does, making it easy for our program and leadership team to easily identify and understand regulatory requirements and the associated risks with failing to adhere to these requirements.
The Regulatory, Compliance & Risk Transformation team is accountable for supporting AGL's Retail Transformation Program to transform the Customer Markets division of AGL and ensuring that this large program can deliver meaningful transformation at scale and pace whilst still aligning to AGL's best practice regulatory compliance and risk framework for Customer Markets.
What you'll be doing:
- Providing relevant, strategic and actionable regulatory advice to the business units operating in a highly complex regulatory and compliance environment.- Delivering high-quality, solutions-oriented regulatory advice on initiatives such as external communications, product development, campaign delivery, marketing collateral, and sales processes.- Offering practical advice highlighting regulatory risks enabling informed business decisions while balancing compliance and commercial objectives.- Partnering with the Retail Transformation program ensuring effective implementation and monitoring of new regulatory requirements, integrating them seamlessly into business operations.- Leading regulatory engagements primarily from Australian Energy Regulator and Essential Services Commission of Victoria, by coordinating cross-functional responses to meet deadlines, and overseeing regulatory reporting for extern a- Effectively leading, mentoring and coaching team members by providing compelling strategic direction and a high-performance culture across the team, additionally promoting a positive compliance culture within the broader Customer Markets team and across the Transformation Program.
What you'll bring:
- Experience in a regulatory or compliance role within the retail energy industry, with strong knowledge of industry regulatory frameworks.- Strong project management skills, capable of coordinating multiple stakeholders to deliver within tight timeframes in a high-pressure environment.- Excellent literacy and presenting skills, with experience in preparing reports and submissions, and delivering clear, concise presentations to senior management.- Highly proactive self-starter, adept at self-managing time and priorities, making decisions and driving outcomes in an ambiguous environment.- Working regulatory knowledge to shape and implement future initiatives and stays informed of best practices in regulatory compliance with the ability to drive implementation.
