**The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a SEIT Execution Lead (Principal Project Engineer) for Battlespace Communications Program based at our Albert Street office located in the **Brisbane CBD**.

Project Currawong is an Australian-designed next-generation Integrated Battlefield Telecommunications Network for the ADF. It provides secure wideband voice, data and video services over wireless and wired infrastructure between deployed forces and headquarters for land-based ADF personnel deployed around the world.

**Responsibilities**
- Working with the Project Manager and Chief Engineer to ensure the engineering scope is delivered within the quality, schedule and budget constraints of the project
- Developing and governing execution against engineering plans
- Providing technical oversight, leadership and mentoring to the SEIT team
- Acting as a customer interface to ensure that engineering and technical requirements are adequately understood and communicating engineering status on project deliverables.
- Collaborating with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to maximise opportunities and minimise risks to success
- Ensuring a compliant Mission System design and a complete Acceptance Verification program.
- Executing and coordinating the team in development of system deliverables.
- Ensuring effective deployment of engineering activities and resources
- Liaising with the business capabilities to identify the engineering skills needed for the project, and to secure properly skilled resources
- Managing the design through the system engineering reviews and business gate process
- Tracking performance metrics and identifying continuous improvement opportunities

**Experience/Qualifications**
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in complex technical development and integration projects.
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle management
- Experience developing and executing against key Project Engineering and Systems Engineering artefacts including Systems Engineering Management Plan and Verification and Validation Plan
- Experience with integrating Specialty Engineering disciplines into the Systems Engineering framework
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse multidisciplinary and geographically diverse team with a focus on service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to engage, influence and negotiate at all levels with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and customers.
- Experience with technical management of aerospace and / or defence projects highly regarded.
- Experience in delivering projects in an ASDEFCON contract environment highly regarded.
- Willingness to travel interstate as required.
