**Position**: Planning and Purchasing Lead

**Role and Responsibilities**: As the Planning and Purchasing Lead, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning and purchasing of raw materials and production scheduling within our manufacturing operations. With the support of junior team members, you will collaborate closely with other functions, including Products and Planning, Supply Chain, and Finance, to achieve cost targets related to raw materials and inventory. Your role will contribute to maintaining production volumes aligned with the Fantastic Manufacturing Budget. Key responsibilities include:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and improve systems and processes.
- Analyze production data to provide insights that inform business strategies and growth initiatives.
- Efficiently plan and schedule orders for production to align with lead times.
- Maintain production plans, schedules, and forecasts in coordination with the Product Buying team and Supply Chain.
- Partner with Transport and Operations teams to optimize product placement through the Distribution Centre network and achieve stock goals.
- Drive informed decisions within inventory control to align raw materials and production needs.
- Manage inventory control elements, including cycle counting, stock adjustments, inventory reduction, accuracy, and stock level optimization.

**Qualifications and Experience**: To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

- Experience in purchasing/inventory planning in a product manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Experience in lounge or furniture manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Excellent understanding and working knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
- Strong production scheduling experience.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Excel, Word, and ERP systems.
- Experience leading and developing small teams.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong analytical abilities.
