Permanent Full-time position - 38 hours per week.Agreement Classification: School Operational Services Level 3Role PurposeThe Facilities and Property Officer ensures the upkeep and enhancement of school grounds and facilities.
Responsibilities include the routine maintenance and repair of the schools' physical assets and infrastructure such as buildings and their associated equipment, furniture, paths, fences, gardening, landscaping and cleaning.The role also involves identifying and mitigating safety hazards, supporting event setups, and adhering to WHS protocols.
Strong handy-person skills and efficient task management within the online maintenance system are required.Additional duties may be assigned by the Campus Manager.Key Responsibilities:Maintenance & RepairsPerform general repairs and ongoing maintenance of school buildings, furniture, and equipmentConduct safety checks and inspections for compliance and reliabilityOperate tools and machinery safely, following WHS guidelinesSet up and support school events, including equipment and furniture assemblyManage and complete tasks using the school's online maintenance systemGrounds Care & CleaningMaintain outdoor areas through mowing, pruning, weeding, spraying, and mulchingUndertake cleaning activities such as cobweb removal, pressure washing, blowing leaves, and general tidyingAppropriately use and store chemicals, equipment, and related suppliesSupport landscaping or garden improvement projects as neededGeneral Operational SupportFollow WHS procedures and act as a safety advocate across campusAssist with event set-up/pack-down and ad hoc cleaning tasksPurchase and manage maintenance-related consumables in line with School policiesOperate emergency and security systems as trained; serve as Fire Warden if requiredRemain available for occasional after-hours duties and on-call tasks.Qualifications and ExperienceDrivers Licence.
LR or HR desirableGeneral Construction Induction (White) CardForklift licence (desirable)Essential Personal AttributesThe ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks independently.
They will demonstrate strong initiative, a solid work ethic, and the inherent physical ability to perform manual duties.
