**About the Role**:

- Work as part of an extended leadership unit across Category Management and assist Heads of and Category Leads to prioritize work and resources, in line with the business plan
- Support Category Lead with "landlord" mentoring, coaching and guidance to support team members to successfully deliver the plan, working as one team to improve overall performance
- Contribute to achieving Supply performance targets
- Lead project teams of specialists on specific programs of work, projects or other contract portfolio accountabilities e.g. Hygiene of the portfolio
- Lead team members to develop category strategies that optimize sustainable commercial outcomes for spend categories
- Work collaboratively across Supply (Region, Global and across sub-functions) and operational stakeholders across Australia to deliver the business plan
- Accountable for the performance of allocated teams and deliverable outcomes
- Demonstrates ability for complex problem solving and support team members to problem resolve for self and team
- Builds trusted relationships and effectively influences key asset and functional stakeholders to deliver required work outcomes
- Work with Heads of and Category Leads to build team culture across Category Management
- Assist Category Leads to manage portfolio risks and governance requirements

**Core Accountabilities**:

- On the job development, coaching and capability building of team members and providing coaching to broader Category Management function. Provide input to Category Leads on individual Specialists performance
- Support Category Leads to drive a high performance culture and empowerment of team members and broader Category Management unit
- Ensure alignment with global function where relevant on category strategies and improving functional excellence
- Responsible for understanding the hygiene of portfolio and assist Category Leads in allocating resources to manage portfolio effectively and manage performance to plans (e.g. Supply
- management, contract management, governance, value delivery, pipeline build)
- Responsible for understanding contribution to Supply business plan and have agreed plans in place to meet deliverables and Supply targets. Manage performance to these plans
- Support Category Leads in establishing and managing good operational disciplines within teams to meet WAVE management, PAP and governance requirements
- Identification and management of Category risks (including but not limited to security of supply, reputation)
- Build relationships with key asset and functional stakeholders, and broker relationships for other teams who have like stakeholders across the business
- Keeping abreast of key external trends both functionally and Supply market perspective, new innovation and newly emerging risks
- Driving collaboration with senior stakeholders across the region to identify and execute opportunities to reduce external spend
- Actively engaging within Supply and stakeholder groups to provide commercially focused coaching and mentoring
- Developing and implementing business cases to drive total value chain outcomes related to external spend
- Effective communication of strategies to all levels of internal stakeholders, from senior leadership to frontline operations
- Developing and driving implementation plans to ensure that value is sustainably captured (which may include defining and tracking success measures)
