Questacon's vision is a better future for all Australians through engagement with science, technology, and innovation. The Questacon Cyber Program engages young Australians and educators to inspire and grow our cyber security workforce of the future.

Our program develops skills in digital technologies and innovation, and encourages critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork and communication, as well as raising awareness of the value of cyber security skills and career opportunities.

**The opportunity**:
You will have an opportunity to connect with students and teachers in the classroom while traveling to regional and remote communities across Australia and gain a basic insight into Questacon's other travelling programs as well as some familiarity with activities, events and operations across the two Questacon campuses in Deakin and Parkes.

We need passionate people who can create meaningful education experiences for school students, teachers, community organisations and the public.

This team tours Australia wide and visits regional areas for 2-4 weeks per term so this role may require some travel.

**What's in it for you?**:
You will gain experience working as part of a small touring team that visits schools as well delivering virtual events that promote our resources and support and upskill teachers. This role requires you to develop an understanding of the importance of digital technology and 21st century skills in Australia's formal and informal STEM-education ecosystem.

We are seeking someone with:

- Effective communication skills with the ability to engender enthusiasm in audiences, particularly young people, and tailor their presentation style to meet their audience's need.
- The ability to work positively and productively in a changing work environment and under pressure.
- Have strong organisational and time management skills, with an ability to use initiative and work under mínimal supervision.
- Emotional intelligence and ability to work closely with a diverse team and people with different working styles.
- Experience and/or qualifications in education, running youth activities, information technology, digital innovation and solutions, and cyber security related fields would be an advantage.

**What you will do**:
Program Delivery Officers develop and deliver Questacon engagement programs. In the Cyber Design Challenge team, you will:

- Present workshops that explore STEM, digital technology and cyber security concepts to students and teachers using a range of media, tools, and technologies.
- Help promote and support educators and community groups to use Questacon's existing resources with their own audiences - Including hands on activities, gamified educational experiences and online resources.
- Assist with the development, testing and evaluation of new content, activities, and delivery methods. Provide open communication to all team members, including giving and receiving feedback and effectively contributing as part of a team.
- Provide communication to a range of external stakeholders about programs.

**Eligibility**:
The position holder is required to:

- hold a full or P2 driver's licence,
- obtain and/or maintain a security clearance at Baseline level,
- undergo a National Police Check, and
- obtain, or hold, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011.

**Notes**:
This position requires availability to travel for 2-4 weeks at a time, each school term.

A merit pool may be established and used to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette.
