About the Opportunity
The Australian government is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Economist to join its team as part of the
Economist Stream Graduate Program
. This program provides successful graduates with the opportunity to apply their skills and work on a diverse range of economic and research-based projects.
Job Description:
The Economist will contribute to informing decisions on policies for the good of the Australian people. This includes working in areas across government fiscal and monetary policies, budgetary policies, domestic and international economic situations, and forecasting changes in the economic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct economic analysis and research to inform policy decisions
Develop and maintain economic models and forecasts
Collaborate with other economists and stakeholders to identify opportunities for policy improvement
Present findings and recommendations to senior officials
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor degree or higher in Economics or a related field. You will also need to possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
