**Position Information**:
Cabramatta High School is a comprehensive, coeducational high school located in South West Sydney. The school has a total student population of over 1500 students, and includes an Intensive English Centre and Support Unit. 96% of students are from a language background other than English, with fifty-five cultural groups represented in the school. The school has a strong focus on academic excellence, collaborative practice, holistic education, wellbeing programs, innovative professional learning and community partnerships. The school has a collaborative staff culture, and the executive team collectively leads whole school projects. The school and its community have a strong culture of high expectations in all learning areas, including student participation in physical activities and sport. There are many extra-curricular sports teams and clubs, with talented students competing at state level. The school has outstanding sporting facilities with an indoor and outdoor gym, covered basketball and volleyball courts and tennis courts.

**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,

1. Demonstrated understanding of and ability to effectively lead the implementation of the new PDHPE curriculum.

2. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and inspire a large, diverse faculty.

3. Demonstrated ability to work as part of the school executive team to collaboratively plan, evaluate and lead whole school initiatives that innovatively address strategic directions.

4. Proven ability to enhance a culture of high expectations and achievement in school sport, providing equitable opportunities for all students.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
