A vacancy currently exists in our, Electrical Safety Office Compliance Unit (ESOCU) team for a Principal Inspector (Electrical Safety Compliance). This position can be based at any of our following offices: Brendale, Ipswich, Maroochydore, Mt Gravatt, Robina and Toowoomba office.

We seek to improve work health and safety, electrical safety and workers' compensation performance through regulatory and policy frameworks and the provision of evidenced-based services and advice.
As a Principal Inspector (Electrical Safety Compliance) within the ESOCU, you will be part of an efficient flexible and responsive team that strives for to keep all Queenslanders safe around electricity.
**Some of your responsibilities will include**:
- Support the Electrical Safety Manager, ESOCU, in developing and implementing the unit's work program
- Monitor and enforce compliance by exercising the powers as an appointed inspector in accordance with the Electrical Safety Act 2002
- Investigate electrical incidents and complaints, prepare reports, and provide technical advice
- Prepare disciplinary action referrals for the independent Electrical Licensing Committee
- Engage external stakeholders including industry and worker representatives and others who can influence electrical safety outcomes
- Contribute to the planning, execution and evaluation of the units' electrical safety compliance and enforcement activities
- Perform other duties as directed by management
- Participate in an innovative team learning environment and continuing professional development through structured learning, mentoring and coaching
**To be successful in this role you will need**:
- Comprehends organisation's goals and aligns operational activities. Conducts investigations using case management process, interpreting legal obligations. Offers advice on investigation matters and legal concerns.
- Applies legislation and risk management principles to diverse electrical hazards. Utilises expertise in court procedures, rules of evidence, and ethical obligations. Analyses and reviews complex technical electrical information, identifies critical issues, provides recommendations.
- Informs, educates, consults, negotiates on electrical safety with stakeholders. Displays well-developed written skills through preparing substantial reports for complex investigations.
- Promotes constructive working relationships and fosters a collaborative team environment. Contributes to team development and common goals.
- Demonstrates personal initiative, ethical conduct, proficiency in independent work, multitasking, and adherence to performance benchmarks.
