Rabobank's Chief Operating Office (COO) Business unit provides IT and Operational support to the broader bank. The COO Risk and Compliance team is growing with an opening for an Analyst - COO Risk and Compliance Projects to be based in Sydney. This is a varied role, focussing entirely on projects. The Analyst - COO Risk and Compliance Projects will act as a trusted risk and compliance advisor to projects (both agile and waterfall) within COO Domain to ensure that any project changes meet Rabobank's risk standards and requirements.

**What you will be doing**:

- Work closely with project managers and product owners to identify and manage risks and controls throughout the delivery lifecycle/project lifecycle
- Engage with product owners and project managers to discuss the required change (i.e., current vs future state) and identify any risks and controls that may arise as a result
- Provide real-time feedback to project managers and product owners to enhance controls, identify weaknesses / gaps and opportunities for improvement as a result of project changes
- Assist project managers and product owners with the completion of risk and compliance related activities such as Materiality Assessment, Delivered Risk Assessment, Project related Vendor Assessment, Control development, Traceability of Obligations
- Facilitate risk workshops with key stakeholders to understand the impact of projects to the business risk and control profile
- Prepare presentation/training material for workshops, training and awareness sessions as required
- Ensure product owners awareness and education/training of the Risk Management framework as well relevant policies throughout the bank
- Work to continuously improve tools and processes

**What you will bring to the role**:

- 3+ years related experience in financial services industry with focus on controls, auditing, operational risk, compliance and/or process engineering
- Proven experience working in a Risk or Compliance team with or working within a business unit in a role with Risk or Compliance responsibilities
- An understanding of risk and compliance management within the financial services industry and related regulatory standards (Basel II, Privacy, AML/CTF, and APRA Prudential Standards)
- An understanding of banking and finance operations including wholesale banking
- Experience in managing and evaluating risk
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing stakeholders and dealing with senior management and business and commercial teams
- Ability to manage time and priorities
- Bachelor of Commerce / Economics / Business or relevant industry qualification, or proven banking and finance expertise

**Desirable**:

- Prince 2 Certification
- Agile certification or equivalent
- Exposure to project management
