Primary Objective
The Hatchery Maintenance Employee is responsible for performing a range of maintenance duties on the infrastructure and equipment at Hazeldene's Hatchery in accordance with performance expectations and/or as directed by the Hatchery Maintenance Supervisor or delegate. Duties are performed in compliance with safety standards. Hazeldene's provides appropriate training and expects active participation to reach performance objectives as outlined in this Position Description.
Key Responsibilities
Work to verbal and/or written instructions provided by the Hatchery Maintenance Supervisor
Proactively raise matters with the Hatchery Maintenance Supervisor, including opportunities for improvement and training
Remain up to date with developments in hatchery equipment
Maintain plant and equipment in satisfactory working order in accordance with established schedules and in a timely manner
Perform maintenance including repairs and upgrades on existing/new buildings as directed by management and within the skills level of this role
Undertake work within Hazeldene's business or externally as directed by management
Utilise hand tools and equipment safely
Work effectively as part of a team and/or autonomously as required, seeking guidance from the Hatchery Maintenance Supervisor as needed
Be part of the Hatchery Maintenance Call-Out roster once appropriately trained
Ensure administration and data recording is performed to Hazeldene's guidelines and complete paperwork within required timeframes
Maintain confidentiality regarding Hazeldene's Chicken Farm Pty Ltd
Quality & OHS Systems
Ensure compliance with Government legislation
Report workplace hazards to the appropriate person according to SOPs
Be proactive in identifying safe work practices and improvements
Adhere to Company policies in all work practices
Implement SOPs consistent with OH&S and Company policies
Assist the OH&S function to prevent injuries/incidents
Understand, follow, and direct quarantine and biosecurity regulations
Comply with restrictions on interactions with other avian species or other poultry operations unless approved
