Responsibilities A Team Director has the responsibility of leading a team of Project Managers and Modelers for the Construction Modeling Group.
They have the responsibility for applying intensive and diversified knowledge of detailing principles and practices in broad areas.
A Team Director bears primary responsibility for properly executing the project management systems for each project under their direction.
They manage a team of professionals, set direction, outline goals, and execute the project plan.
A Team Director's roles include contract negotiation, planning, organization direction and control of projects, being a team leader through technical supervision and staff development and contributing to business development.Responsibilities:Manages Projects Ensuring that all Production, Quality, Client Satisfaction, and Budgetary Objectives are MetConducts needs assessment with client to determine project scope and requirementsAttends kick-off meetings to explain design options and gathers information related to schedule and budgetDevelops project plans and budgets including staffing and resource needsCoordinates project delivery with client, internal and external team membersPlans and leads internal and external project meetingsCollaborates with architects, contractors, and other engineering consultants to develop engineering solutionsCoordinates and guides preparation of construction documents with drafters, modelers, designers, clients, and internal quality control staffCommunicates, coordinates, and interacts with clients, consultants, and team members regarding project informationOversees designs, reviews project specifications, and interprets applicable codes and industry standardsGuides/assists other modelers regarding issues such as codes, design criteria, and softwareCollaborate with the Practice Area Director and Director of Technology to develop and implement standardized practices.Collaborate with the Director of Technology to optimize detailing processes and enhance interoperability between detailing, engineering, and fabrication teams.Coordinate with WPM Facilities and IT teams to address the office needs of the team.Represent WPM at both local and international industry events.Monitors staffing/resource needs and reports to DirectorManages workload distribution and project resourcesCollaborates with other project managers to ensure appropriate staffingAssists with the Recruitment and interviews for qualified job candidatesPromotes our Extraordinary Client Experience (ECX), by building effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer's expectationsActively participates in industry, client, and community relations to enhance company imagePerforms Other Functions as NeededQualifications 20+ minimum prior years experience with 15+ prior years experience in steel detailingExcellent written and verbal communicationStrong organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to engage individuals and teams to complete tasks or projects.Ability to mentor and lead individuals and teams, build partnerships, and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectivesDemonstrated career growth that includes experience working on design teams for a variety of building or project typesStrong client-service attitude with ability to multi-task and accomplish multiple prioritiesStrong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environmentWalter P Moore is an equal employment opportunity employer, and provides equal employment opportunities (including offering competitive compensation and benefit packages) to all employees and applicants for employment.
