Join to apply for the Educational Leader - Yandina role at YMCA QueenslandOverviewWe are currently recruiting for an Educational Leader to join our team at YMCA Yandina Outside School Hours Care on a Permanent Part-Time basis.The Y Queensland stands together with all people regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or belief.As the Educational Leader, you will lead the development and implementation of the education program by promoting children's well-being, development and learning by helping the children develop values, attitudes and ways of living and learning.
This will be achieved by providing a high quality of care, activities and educational elements to those in the program, managing and promoting a team environment and working within the YMCA of Brisbane Long Day Care services' philosophy, policies and procedures.ResponsibilitiesLead the development and implementation of the educational program and assessment with the support of Assistant Coordinator/CoordinatorEnsure children's learning and development informs the design of the educational program, and Educators facilitate and extend each child's learning and developmentLiaise effectively with parents, staff and all internal and external stakeholdersMake recommendations for improvements to educators' educational programs and practicesMentor and support educators understanding of the educational program and practice including how to reflect on the effectiveness of their programs, interactions, intentional teaching and other strategiesEnsure compliance with policyUndertake administrative requirementsWork collaboratively with families and the school communityQualificationsHold a Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent and demonstrated experience in Early Childhood EducationHave had sound experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care settingPossess a comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning frameworkDemonstrated ability to coach and mentor othersDemonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skillsHave a comprehensive working knowledge of child development, attachment, learningA demonstrated understanding of evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learningWorking knowledge of leadership theory and the use of a range of leadership stylesWell-developed critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyse and challenge conventional practice and ideasCurrent First Aid and CPR CertificationCurrently possess, or be willing to obtain, Blue CardWhat's in it for you?
