Overview Public Sector People is partnering with Sydney Council to recruit a Procurement and Contracts Manager for a short-term contract.
This is an initial 3-month engagement and could suit someone at Coordinator level.
Responsibilities Developing, implementing and reviewing procurement and contract management policies and strategies.
Leading Council's tendering, contract administration, and supplier engagement activities.
Managing performance indicators and identifying cost-saving initiatives.
Coaching and supporting staff across departments in procurement best practice.
Overseeing Council's stores and inventory control processes.
Essential criteria Relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement, business, contract management or a related field.
Extensive experience in procurement, tendering, and contract management.
Proven ability to develop and implement policies, procedures and category management plans.
Strong understanding of probity, compliance and reporting requirements.
Local government experience is highly desirable.
