Finisar Australia is seeking a talented Senior Quality Control Inspector to join our team in Sydney.

**Here's what you'll do at Finisar**:

- Inspect incoming parts as advised by the IQC team leader.
- Arrange and undertake incoming part sampling inspection based on the First in, first out rule to ensure materials meets quality requirements.
- Assist component engineers in conducting First Article Inspection (FAI) and work closely with the component and engineering teams to ensure New Production Introduction (NPI) project materials comply with material specifications and relevant standards.
- Report component quality issues to relevant engineers and the quality control manager in a timely manner.
- Manage all documents and quality records and ensure data in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and daily log files are correct and consistent.
- Follow and implement OHS, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and ISO 9001 requirements.

This role contains the following engineering related tasks:

- Prepare supplier quality performance review material and attend quality meetings with suppliers.
- Prepare OQC weekly reports and OQC inspection work instructions.
- Investigate the root cause for supplier or process related quality issues.

**Necessary Skills and Experience**
- Diploma of engineering (mechanical, electronic or optical) or above.
- Extensive experience in the quality inspection of optical, electronic, or mechanical components.
- Knowledgeable of ESD and ISO9001 requirements.
- Capable in reading mechanical drawings.
- Able to use microscopes to inspect tiny parts.
- Good computer literacy.
- Good problem-solving capability and the use of basic quality tools to investigate the root cause of quality issues.
- Good command of spoken and written English, with the ability to write professional reports.
- Good attention to detail.

**Desirable Skills and Experience**
- Knowledgeable of the manufacturing process for optical, electronic, or mechanical parts.
- IPC-A-610 certification.
- Able to use Coordinate-measuring Machine (CMM) to measure mechanical parts.
