**Position Information**:
The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. We employ, develop and support teachers, leaders and other staff to deliver the best outcomes for students and to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people.

**About the Role**

You will be responsible to the Principal for the day to day operation of the school canteen, including the supervision and rostering of relevant staff and/or voluntary workers.

To be successful in the role you will need to have good planning and prioritising skills and good communication skills to work effectively with others.

You will perform a range of tasks relating to the operation of the school canteen including ensuring compliancy with food handling regulations, ordering and receiving supplies, reconciliation of monies received and preparation of financial statements. You will understand the importance of providing a quality customer experience.

New Lambton PS strives to promote healthy eating and good nutrition for all of our students. It is our expectation that our school canteen will support a 'whole of school' approach to student health and wellbeing by reinforcing healthy eating messages taught across the school through the curriculum. Our school canteen will provide a high quality service in line with the Department's Nutrition in Schools Policy and the NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy that includes the food and drink criteria. A requirement of the canteen license agreement will be the completion and submission of a menu check every two years to ensure compliance with the Healthy School Canteen Strategy. Other aspects of canteen management aligned with the context of the New Lambton PS community include provision of food that is Halal certified, addressing the requirements of the Anaphylaxis Procedures for Schools and providing the option of an online ordering system to support our working parents and carers.
