**Position Information**:
Mount Annan Public School is located between Camden and Campbelltown, within walking distance to the Australian Botanic Gardens in Mount Annan. The school has an enrolment of 707 students and is comprised of 27 mainstream classes and three support classes. Aboriginal students make up 7.2% of the student population and 16% of students have a language background other than English. Our staff is committed to continuous improvement and the development of a collaborative school culture. Students are educated in a safe, supportive environment by dedicated staff who hold high expectations for teaching and learning and demonstrate this through commitment to their own professional development. Strong relationships with parents and carers have been built and fostered through regular and positive communication and interaction. The promotion of student voice through increased leadership opportunities has facilitated positive student engagement in learning and school life. Feedback about various aspects of school life is sought from class and school leaders as well as through student forums that are held throughout the year. Sporting opportunities, a range of extra-curricular activities as well as various teacher organised lunchtime games are offered enabling our students to positively engage with other students and excel in areas appropriate to their individual needs and interests.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,

Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students K-6 with behavioural difficulties, autism, mild to moderate intellectual disabilities and emotional disturbance.

Expertise developing and delivering high quality, individualised teaching and learning programs that are engaging and inspiring, in a multi-stage classroom with emphasis on social, emotional and behavioural needs of students.

Proven leadership and / or experience in special education or support, working collaboratively as an integral member of the leadership team to embed a culture of high expectations, continuous improvement and innovation through the school's strategic directions and priorities.

Demonstrated outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, resulting in the building of authentic relationships and engagement with students, staff, the community and external agencies.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
