We are currently recruiting for anEducational Leaderto join our team at YMCA Berrinba East Outside School Hours Care on a Permanent Part-Time basis.
About the role
As the Educational Leader, you will lead the development and implementation of the education program by promoting children's well-being, development, and learning.
You will help children develop values, attitudes, and ways of living and learning by providing high-quality care, activities, and educational elements.
You will manage and promote a team environment and work within the YMCA of Brisbane Long Day Care services' philosophy, policies, and procedures.
What will my time look like?
Lead the development and implementation of the educational program and assessment with the support of Assistant Coordinator / Coordinator.
Ensure children's learning and development inform the design of the educational program, and Educators facilitate and extend each child's learning and development.
Liaise effectively with parents, staff, and all internal and external stakeholders.
Make recommendations for improvements to educators' educational programs and practices.
Mentor and support educators' understanding of the educational program and practice, including reflection on the effectiveness of their programs, interactions, intentional teaching, and other strategies.
Ensure compliance with policy.
Undertake administrative requirements.
Work collaboratively with families and the school community.
Am I a good match?
Hold a Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent and demonstrate experience in Early Childhood Education.
Have sound experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting.
Possess a comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework.
Demonstrate ability to coach and mentor others.
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Have a comprehensive understanding of child development, attachment, and learning.
Understand evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learning.
Possess working knowledge of leadership theory and various leadership styles.
Have well-developed critical thinking skills, including analyzing and challenging conventional practices and ideas.
Maintain current First Aid and CPR Certification.
Possess, or be willing to obtain, a Blue Card.

About the service
YMCA Berrinba East Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is located within Berrinba East State School, offering outdoor learning spaces.
OSHC Berrinba East is licensed for 60 children.
We provide before and after school care from 6:30 am to 8:30 am and 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
We also offer Vacation Care from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.
We play, connect, and learn on Yugambeh and Jagera land, supporting our families to connect with us and creating a home away from home.
YMCA Berrinba East features basketball courts, playgrounds, a library, a bike track, and a large oval.
We utilize individual strengths and talents, aligning them with children's interests to bring engaging experiences to our centre.
