The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic, commercially minded, self-motivated, and dynamic individual - a thorough sales professional to join our team in Melbourne (home office) location. You will work autonomously, possessing the unique ability to combine sales, scientific and technical experience to build and maintain strong relationships with our customers in the Livestock, Poultry and Dairy (LPD) industry by providing account management, technical support, and training. This is a dynamic role primarily working with producers, consultants, and Vet Practices, implementing trials, representing IDEXX at conferences, and engaging with the IDEXX global organization. The role requires regular travel throughout Australia and some international travel.
As the lead salesperson within Australia, you will be responsible for:
Continuing a culture of exceptional growth by strengthening our existing customer base and identifying new opportunities.
Providing outstanding customer support with respect to technical and training issues.
Coordinating with laboratories, industry bodies, and more to maximise penetration in the market & usage of IDEXX LPD products.
Taking the lead to arrange and represent IDEXX within the industry at conferences and tradeshows.
Sale process focused - engaging with local and global teams to drive market growth.
Urgent health protocol testing where required.
Being an advocate for your customers to ensure IDEXX maintains the market leading position within the water industry.
Be a Sales professional with demonstrated sales success in a Key Account role in a technical environment.
Possess a background in Account Management and business development - highly advantageous.
Have experience with sales of technical products.
3-5 years of Account Management experience in animal health or related industry
Sales or Marketing degree - desired but not essential
Any LPD Industry Sales or Testing experience is highly regarded.
Science background within animal health industry - desired or equivalent
Experience in developing new accounts for animal health sales, pharmaceutical companies and the like.
