**About the role**:
This position exists to support individuals to achieve their personal ambitions and to
empower people to have greater control and authority in their lives.
Your work will involve a broad range of aspects including partnering with people and
their families, referral, relationship and communication facilitation, skill development,
partnership with organisations to support inclusion.
In your work there will be a continued emphasis on confidentiality and safeguarding of
individuals achievements and lifestyles

**Key Responsibilities**:
Supporting clients to achieve their goals through one-on-one support.
Develop trusting relationships with clients while helping them understand and manage their own mental health.
Operate collaboratively with a range of services and the community to ensure a coordinated and integrated response to the client's recovery goals.
Problem solving, developing creative solutions and remaining motivated in meeting service needs.
Attending appointments and supporting day to day activities as required by client/s.

**Administration**:
Complete documentation not limited to but, including
Incident and hazard reporting
Communication notes
Medication sheets

**Knowledge & experience**:
A clear understanding of Goal and Objective setting in relation to identified
Participant needs.
Experience in dealing and communicating with people with an intellectual
disability, mental health, complex behaviors and behaviors of concerns.
Experience in identifying, developing and evaluating communication methods.
Knowledge of COVID 19 infection control policies and use of PPE

**Skills**

Previous experience in Disability work and Youth work (desirable)
Previous experience in behavior support
Current first aid certificate
Must have a current Working with Children Check and National Police Check
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Must have current drivers licence
Capacity to identify and manage risks to ensure safety for all.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills and good command of the English language

All offers of employment are conditional upon a satisfactory police criminal record and Disability Workers Exclusion Scheme checks and the right to work in Australia.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 25-35 per week

**Salary**: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
