**Role Description/Criteria**

**Role Description**
- Implement a comprehensive P- 6 PE Programme
- Strive to make PE an enjoyable experience with a focus on active participation
- Assess and report on children's fundamental motor skill development
- Be committed to regular ongoing professional development
- Keep up with developments in the area of PE; paying particular attention to safety requirements
- Order and maintain sports equipment
- Liaise with sporting organisations to promote sporting options out of school hours
- Attend District Sports meetings and report back to leadership and classroom teachers when required
- Coordinate participation in District and Regional carnivals of Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country
- Compose and collate parent permission letters for children to participate in carnivals
- Organise transport to District carnivals
- Provide information for elite athletes to participate in Regional and State Selection Trials
- Support 5/6 teachers with their involvement in inter school sport

**General**
- Promote Child Safety practices throughout the school community, reinforcing St Paul Apostle South's commitment to ensuring that the wellbeing of children in our care will always be our first priority.
- Promote, that through the school's child safety policies, the school has zero tolerance to child abuse.
- Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment for yourself and others and comply with all safe work policies and procedures
- Maintain currency of first aid, mandatory reporting and anaphylaxis training
- Attend pro-rata staff meetings, professional learning opportunities and relevant after school activities as required
- Participate in duty supervision as rostered and other supervision duties when required
- Demonstrate professional and collegiate relationships with colleagues
- Uphold the professional standards expected of a teacher

- VIT Registration

- Equivalent to 4 years of teacher training
