Veterinary Nurse - Specialist Oncology | Permanent Full-Time Role
Our ARH Brisbane family is part of a well-established group of specialist and emergency veterinary hospitals. Our purpose-designed, state of the art hospital houses our specialty services, including small animal surgery, internal medicine, neurology, surgical and medical oncology, advanced imaging, and a 24/7 emergency and critical care service. We uphold high clinical and professional standards, driven by genuine care and compassion.
Work-life balance is important to us. Our full-time specialty nurses have an RDO fortnightly, with generally no weekend work. A dedicated support team helps our nursing staff focus on patient care.
About You
You share the values of our existing specialty nursing team – delivering outstanding patient care. You are organized, adaptable, enthusiastic, and an excellent communicator. You are skilled at multi-tasking and comfortable working in a fast-paced role. You enjoy working in an upbeat team environment and value good camaraderie.
The Successful Candidate Will Possess
Certificate IV in veterinary nursing and/or BAppSc (Veterinary Technology) degree or equivalent
Minimum 4 years nursing experience in a busy general practice or experience in referral (specialist hospital) or emergency nursing
A strong work ethic, ability to multi-task, and capability to work independently and as part of a team
The desire and ability to deliver consistently high quality patient care, even in busy conditions
Excellent communication skills
Desirable Attributes
Diploma of Veterinary Nursing or equivalent further training
Knowledge and experience in anaesthetic monitoring, oncology nursing and patient care
Experience in an emergency and/or specialist hospital
Knowledge of RX works, SmartFlow and Idexx blood machines
