**The Role**
Ventia are currently looking to engage a qualified & experienced Mail Room Operator for an ongoing full time position. This role will see you based at Garden Island (HMAS Stirling) within a well-established admin team.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure all documentation is maintained and accurate at all times.
- Supervise the loading and unloading of mail.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of base mail and its security whilst in transit.
- Receive & sort incoming mail from Australia Post courier
- Make up morning & afternoon mail delivery runs for transport driver
- Receive and sort incoming packages from TOLL and ad-hoc courier companies
- Use DRN database to locate and re-direct mail items

**Skills and Experience**
- Mail room experience or Post Office experience (Desired)
- Must be willing to obtain and hold a current Defence Clearance and Base Pass.
- Able to work effectively with people from diverse national, cultural, linguistic and religious/spiritual backgrounds and to deal with sensitive issues in a manner that is respectful of people's individual dignity, cultural values and religious beliefs.
- Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Required to liaise with clients/staff and respond to specific deadlines.
- Must be able to meet physical requirements of the role as well as the physical demands of the environment and emergency evacuation requirements.
- In order to be successful in this role you must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. This will require us to complete an Australian Federal Police check on your behalf._
