About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Officer to join our team based at our Garden Island, Sydney Offices. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and/or hybrid working.
**You will be responsible for**:
Working as part of a team, as the Quality Assurance Officer you will provide support and guidance to the delivery of a broad range of planned quality activities designed to provide assurance to management that quality practices are being effectively deployed across the project and line of business.
**Key responsibilities include**:

- Interpret and provide advice within the management and quality assurance function based on legislation, policy and procedures.
- Maintain a well developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
- Support understanding and awareness of quality tools and techniques across the business area.
- Regular liaison with the Customer and Partner Company Quality representatives to provide required assurance.
- Support the monitoring and completion of corrective, preventive and/or improvement actions by the business area.
- Coordinate the completion of Preliminary Material Review (PMR) and Material Review Board (MRB) ensuring all records are retained.

About YOU
- Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Essential).
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated experience in a Quality Technician role (preferred).
- Experience in mechanical/electrical/electronic manufacturing and a sound knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications (preferred).
- Sound understanding of Quality practices and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity of ISO9001, Defence and Civil Technical Regulatory.
- Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word and Excel.
