**About the Role**
We're looking for an experienced Sponsorship and Events Manager to lead the planning and execution of strategic partnerships and brand activations for BYD and Denza across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role plays a critical part in enhancing brand visibility, deepening audience engagement, and positioning BYD as a global leader in new energy vehicles.
This is a rare opportunity to help shape the public experience of one of the world's fastest-growing EV brands. You'll be responsible for identifying and managing high-impact sponsorship opportunities, delivering memorable event experiences, building strategic relationships, and ensuring all activations align with BYD's brand and business goals.
**Key responsibilities**
Events
- Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of all marketing-related events, including (but not limited to) drive days, trade shows, exhibitions, new product launches, and dealer activations across Australia and New Zealand.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external agencies, vendors, and venues to manage event logistics, staffing, catering, signage, AV, permits, and compliance—ensuring all elements are delivered on time and within budget.
- Develop and deliver compelling event content—including keynote presentations, video materials, and brand storytelling—that clearly communicate BYD's innovation, product features, and sustainability leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and product teams to align event strategy with business goals and ensure consistent messaging.
- Create strategic event plans for industry trade shows and consumer events, focusing on maximising brand exposure, engagement, and lead generation.
- Work closely with internal creative teams and external partners to design visually striking, interactive event spaces and localise content from global case studies to suit regional audiences.
- Incorporate digital elements such as live streaming, social media engagement, and virtual event components to extend event reach and interactivity.
- Implement sustainable practices across all events, including waste reduction, eco-friendly materials, EV charging infrastructure, and carbon-conscious logistics.
- Manage all logístical components, including transport, signage, setup and pack-down, and the availability and presentation of the marketing fleet of vehicles.
- Lead risk and contingency planning for events, ensuring appropriate insurances, health and safety protocols, site & staff briefings, and backup scenarios are in place.
- Analyse event performance through post-event reports, collecting stakeholder and attendee feedback, and using data-driven insights to inform future improvements.
- Maintain and manage the annual Sponsorship & Events calendar, ensuring strategic alignment and optimal timing of activations across the business.
- Manage and report on event budgets, ensuring cost control and tracking ROI.
Sponsorships & Partnerships
- Manage existing sponsorship relationships, ensuring deliverables are met, stakeholder expectations are exceeded, and the brand is represented with professionalism and consistency.
- Identify and evaluate new sponsorship opportunities that support BYD's strategic objectives, align with brand values, and increase audience reach and relevance.
- Lead sponsorship activation planning and execution, working with internal and external partners to deliver high-impact campaigns that fully leverage contracted benefits.
- Maximise value from sponsorships through integrated marketing efforts, content rights, on-site branding, co-branded campaigns, and unique customer engagement opportunities.
- Incorporate digital and social media components into sponsorship activations to enhance reach, engagement, and measurement.
- Evaluate sponsorship performance against agreed KPIs, producing post-activation reports with recommendations and clear ROI assessment.
- Manage the marketing fleet of vehicles to ensure availability, branding, and condition for all partnership-related activations and campaigns.
- Track and manage sponsorship budgets, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and value delivery
Stakeholder & Agency Management
- Manage the external agency and serve as the primary liaison for events and external stakeholders.
