General Shop Hand Position

Perth, Western Australia The Pond Shop Full time

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Greet customers and make them feel welcome
- Be prepared to undertake all of the shop duties including general cleaning, cleaning ponds and aquariums, plant nursery maintenance, etc.
- Receive goods deliveries and restock items that are running low and maintain proper display appearances.
- Process payments by using cash register, and POS (point of sale) computer system.
- Eventually undertake training to be able to assist customers with merchandise (pond and pump sizing, advice on treatments and general pond maintenance, catching fish etc.)

**Requirements and Qualifications**
- Computer literate and comfortable using POS systems.
- Thrives working in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.
- Physically fit, heavy lifting occasionally involved and able to work long hours on one's feet.
- Available to work flexible hours Monday to Saturday.
- Must be a willing learner with initiative and an interest in long term employment.
- Excellent customer service and strong interpersonal skills.
- Must show initiative to work unsupervised.
- Must be an Australian Resident and Citizen.
- Proof of Covid Vaccination is required.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
