**RISK & COMPLIANCE OFFICER**
**PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME
Cranbrook School is seeking a Risk & Compliance Officer to join the Corporate Services
team, based at the Senior School campus at Bellevue Hill.
**ABOUT THE POSITION**
The Risk & Compliance Officer works as a collaborative member of the Corporate Services
team and supports the School with a variety of risk and regulatory matters.
This role could be structured as a full-time or part-time (minimum 0.6 FTE) role depending
in school holidays is also negotiable.
The role is varied, but includes a particular focus on matters relating to Work, Health &
Safety. Responsibilities include providing risk management and compliance advice; co
- ordination of responses for regulatory requests, inspections and subpoenas; contributing to
the development of policies, procedures and training programs; advising on policy and
procedure changes to reflect evolving legislation, policy or education industry standards;
identifying trends, issues and risk and compliance opportunities for improvement; assisting
with administration and maintenance of the online policy portal, staff learning system and
risk registers; reviewing and advising on risk assessments for tours, camps, activities and
excursions; assisting with regulatory and management reporting; and undertaking
compliance and risk reviews.

You are a collaborative, service oriented and personable team player, with a pragmatic
approach to problem solving. You can think clearly and remain calm under pressure.
With a minimum of three years' experience in a risk, compliance or assurance role, you are
professional and possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. You are
looking for a busy, broad and varied role, and are interested in working in the education
sector.
**SELECTION CRITERIA**
- Tertiary qualifications within a relevant field
- A minimum of three years' experience in a risk, compliance or assurance role
- Prior experience with Work, Health & Safety
- Ability to manage competing priorities and time pressures, and a willingness to be
- involved in a wide variety of matters
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- High level organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to tight
- deadlines and under pressure
- Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with people at all levels
- Ability to work autonomously, as part of a team, and in co-ordination with other
- groups of the school community
- A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Experience in the education sector is not essential but would be highly regarded.
