**Role description**:
Due to consistent growth in our Environment and Sustainability group, we are seeking an Associate Technical Director to join our national team of specialists. This role aims to support the development of the business and ensure ongoing technical excellence is at the forefront of everything we do.

You will play a key role in the management and coordination of the delivery of a number of projects from major transport and renewables projects through to smaller environment and sustainability projects. You will also play a key role in supporting the growth and diversity of our business in terms of our people, our clients and our projects.

**Role accountabilities**:

- Providing environmental and sustainability related technical expertise and advice to clients and stakeholders, assisting clients through technical decision-making and provide innovation, alternatives, options and solutions.
- Mentoring and developing the skill base of specialised environment and sustainability technical teams.
- Providing reassurance, confidence, and a sense of direction to both client and project team members.
- Managing and developing on-going relationships with clients and influencing decisions in both client organisations and the industry whilst promoting Arcadis.
- Using knowledge of client business and competition to provide input and competitive focus during tendering processes.
- Championing the implementation of our national strategy and developing the branding of Arcadis Environment and Sustainability in the market.
- Working with clients and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of project objectives and to set protocols for working together.
- Implementing a high level of innovation in technical issues, problem solving and the culture of the team, leading by example.
- Integrating with design teams to achieve programme and delivery targets on key projects.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- 15+ years environmental consulting experience on projects of significant scale and/or complexity
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional accreditation
- Post-graduate qualifications an advantage
- Demonstrated technical, commercial and delivery acumen
- Recognised leader in specialist discipline with well-established industry networks
- Proven ability to network and influence at peer levels
- Demonstrated ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegation skills
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both internally and externally
