Join the Office of Industrial Relations (OIR) as the Manager, Compliance and Enforcement, where your expertise will directly influence insurer compliance, worker outcomes, and the future of our workers' compensation scheme.
About the role
As the Manager, Compliance and Enforcement, you'll lead a high-performing team responsible for monitoring and enforcing insurer compliance within Queensland's workers' compensation scheme. Your role will ensure that all insurers meet legislative, licensing, and government policy requirements, supporting a system that balances the needs of workers and employers alike.
You will:
Lead strategic compliance and enforcement initiatives across the scheme
Provide high-level advice to senior executives and stakeholders on emerging issues and trends
Manage and mentor a team of professionals in a fast-paced regulatory environment
Represent OIR at forums, seminars, and stakeholder meetings
Oversee the development and implementation of risk-based frameworks, policies, and projects
What we're looking for
We're seeking a skilled leader with strong regulatory experience and a strategic mindset.
You'll have:
Demonstrated success in leading compliance/enforcement programs or regulatory teams
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills
Strong analytical abilities to translate data into actionable insights
A commitment to ethical leadership and continuous improvement
Highly desirable:
Experience in regulation, auditing, enforcement, or workers' compensation
Diploma in Government (Investigations) and/or Lead Auditor qualifications
