About the team
The Chief Financial Officer is part of the Enterprise Services Group which provides core enabling services that support the achievement of
ASIC's
strategic objectives.
The Finance team provides trusted and timely advice and services to enable
ASIC
to make smart decisions on the efficient use of public resources and operate efficiently and effectively.
Role and responsibilities
As the Chief Financial Officer, you will be accountable for leading
ASIC's
Finance function, which is responsible for:
Providing strategic advice on complex financial matters to a diverse range of stakeholders
Driving long-term financial strategy and supporting groups across the business
Overseeing financial operations including
ASIC's
unclaimed money responsibilities
Leading the statutory financial reporting and financial framework functions, which includes preparing consolidated year-end financial statements and work papers
The preparation of
ASIC's
annual budget
You will promote a high-performance culture, drive financial compliance, and partner with senior leaders to achieve business outcomes. You will work collaboratively with the business planning and performance reporting team to improve
ASIC's
reporting framework and deliver insights that support
ASIC's
work.
About you
To be successful in this challenging and rewarding role, you will have demonstrated ability to lead, support and influence large, high performing teams in a dynamic and complex environment. It is anticipated you will have considerable experience in the direct management of large teams and be able to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
You will have a proven track record operating at a senior executive level, having managed a complex finance function within the public sector. Your ability to operate strategically across the business will be complemented by your commitment to problem solve, understand challenges, communicate and support your team at an operational level.
