Geosynthetic Installation Supervisor

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Total Lining Systems Full time

We are currently looking for one supervisor to manage small jobs in Sydney area (2/3 people) and another one to manage an installation crew (8/10 people) that will travel across states (NSW, QLD, VIC) to install geosynthetic liner systems, primarily at solid-waste landfills, municipal solid waste sites, industrial facilities, and other related industries.

Geosynthetic liner materials include geomembranes (HDPE, LLDPE etc), geocomposites, geosynthetic clay liners (GCLs), geotêxtiles that are installed as a system to contain liquids, gases, and solids, for the benefit of the environment and human health.

TLS Liner Supervisors are required, at a minimum, to perform the following:
Major Duties/Responsibilities
- Ensure all assigned projects are completed according to TLS's safety policies and procedures and in accordance with customer/project specifications, with continuous and effective communication with TLS's project managers.
- Directly manage all on-site personnel & project operations related to materials deployment, field seaming, sewing, testing, and repairs.
- Project management skills to manage tasks and resources necessary to ensure project schedules are met.
- Maximizing quality, production levels and efficiencies pertaining to all geosynthetic construction activities required by the project.
- Communicating project progress, site conditions, equipment problems etc. to the Project Manager.
- Provide training & development to crew members.
- Perform maintenance on equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance.
- Oversee and maintain clean, and organized equipment and supplies.

**Requirements**:

- Travel for extended periods, as necessary, with various breaks throughout the winter months.
- Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
- This position requires physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance working in an open, outdoor environment. The applicant must be physically fit and able to perform labor required of the job including the ability to
- Lift and carry 15/20 kg regularly.
- Have dexterity sufficient to move safely over uneven or sloped terrain while maintaining balance.
- See and respond to dangerous situations - and take necessary action to ensure a safe workplace as per TLS policy.
- Work safely in extreme weather (hot & cold).
- Wear personal protective gear correctly most of the workday.
- Stand or stoop for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate and be certified as an equipment operator for heavy equipment, including but not limited to, high reach forklift and excavator.

Licenses/Certifications
- Valid driver's license (required)
- Telehandler/excavator tickets (preferred)

Part-time hours: 55 per week

**Salary**: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
